Every day I receive questions from readers.
Super fun, because I get a precise insight into what keeps you busy.
And what you encounter during your renovation.
Yesterday Jan emailed me with a question, which is very appropriate in this spring period!
His question:
‘We have bought a house.
It is too small (…) so it will be renovated.
Only we are a bit stuck with the style that we like and want to see in everything!
We (…) would like the same style inside and outside.’
Thanks for your question Jan!
Your home and garden can feel like two different worlds. Inside and outside.
By connecting your house and garden, a whole is created.
This way you involve your garden in your living spaces – and your house immediately feels much more spacious.
I’ll show you how to do it in 5 steps.
This is how you get started:
step 1 – Determine your living style
First of all, it is very important to form a picture of the style you want to create in your interior.
If you really have no idea, the easiest step is: just copy from others.
Thanks to the internet, there are so many examples of interiors to be found.
Pinterest is my favorite site for inspiration.
Create an account on Pinterest and start your collection!
( how you you can read that here )
Just look at atmosphere and style
(Not to solutions for your renovation; Then you get stuck. You really need to make a renovation plan for that.)
step 2 – Analyze your examples
Have you collected some nice images?
Then analyze what you see.
Take a good look at the use of colour, materials and furniture.
You will probably see similarities between the pictures.
These elements form the basis for your living style.
step 3 – looking for gardens!
Fortunately, you will not only find interiors on Pinterest – you will also find a huge number of examples of gardens.
Look for images of gardens that use the same materials as in your favorite interiors.
You really get a good idea of all the possibilities.
step 4 – create a mood board
Create a mood board to get a good insight into how the style of your interior and garden fit together.
This way you can see at a glance what the total picture yields.
And you can puzzle and try out which furniture and materials provide the best ‘look’.
Below you can see two examples of such a mood board:
step 5 – There are many more possibilities!
Not only the same style ensures that your house and garden become one whole.
There are even more ways to blend your interior and outdoor space.
This creates an enormous amount of space in the house without expanding.
In my blog 5-tips-for-a-beautiful-transition-between-your-house-and-your-garden you can read 5 more tips to get unity!
In short…..
You see; there are several ways to connect your home and garden.
This way you achieve a nice summer feeling. And your house seems much more spacious, even in winter.
So get started to get the maximum result.
PS DO YOU WANT TO GET STARTED WITH YOUR HOME?

So many ideas. But you don’t have a clear picture of what you really want with your house.
